The importance of keeping our forests is to preserve the unique biodiversity we have here in Fiji. In this case, the people of Emalu call the Nanai (rare cicada) their totem animal. The people of Emalu have preserved 7,400 H.a of their land under the Fiji National REDD+ Programme.
